My homie S.B. and his After Ours Music group offer their first official project for y’all to get introduced to them and their sound. And as you can tell from the sample they got some quality frreshness in stock. I’ve had the honor of being around these cats as they have been hard at work perfecting their craft and now it’s good to see them finally get around to sharing it with the world. S.B. and his crew take this music thing seriously, making an honest effort to cook up quality ish. I can’t help but get behind and support their mission! As you can see this project is called ‘Acquired Taste’, meaning you need to go back and play this over and over again to appreciate, but already a few of these joints HIT! Peep the sounds in the link up top and get acquainted.
I haven’t posted anything all week because THIS is what I’ve only been bumpin’. WOOOOOOOOOOO! Ferg’s album 'Trap Lord' is probably the HOARDEST, LOUDEST, most IG’NINT album I think I’ve ever heard! For real! Every track is HYYYYPE and KNOCKS. Bump this in the ride at full volume and people think the T-Rex is coming. Sonically this is one of the best albums around. Best believe I’m copping this album. Peep the leftover cut that DID NOT make it on the album featuring my favorite rapper in the game today, Danny Brown:
In the wake of the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case and countless acts of police brutality witnessed throughout America on the daily, this track right here hits close to home. My man C-Note from San Jose cooks up some great production and features J. Nolan, Co$$, and Mistah F.A.B each commentating on a serious ongoing issue in our country. Overall all a quality track that I’m very impressed with. This is the first single off C-Note’s his upcoming project 'Volume 2' set to feature Haz Solo, Chuuwee, Ziggy, and more up & coming Bay Area talent.
No relation to the Western icon, but JonWayne is ILL on the beats and just as dope with the rhymes. He’s been around the Stones Throw/Alpha Pup scene for a while now but this latest project offering is my first true introduction. Consider me an instant fan. Head over to the Stones Throw site for a free download, or cop the cassette if you still messing with Walkmans. Don’t slepp y’all, this ish is tight.
I had this sitting in the iTunes queue waiting to get heard. Then I forgot about it. And after having a convo with a fellow music head about what we were respectively bumpin’ at the moment, he told me about Joey’s ‘Summer Knights’ album. After remembering that I’ve yet to listen to it I made a point to focus my ears to it. There was no doubt that this was going to be some quality hip hop music. If you haven’t already peeped this, better late than never.
It might seem like a tough pair of shoes to fill when your pops is the King of Slaps in E-40. However his son, Droop-E is making a name for himself carving his own lane with quality music. Ever since the Sade sampled 'I'm Loaded', I’ve been a fan. Now he drops an official debut project that’s no doubt OFFICIAL. Respecognize!
Posts have been lagging lately but I’ve been stockpiling on heat for y’all. So much that this latest installment is in TWO parts. But you can’t have the 2nd part without having first peeped the 1st. So with that said peep the lineup:
Big Chief SMASH x NoahDeeAkili - Numbers on the Board (Throw Darts)
Yo this album here goes HOARD! I had no expectations before the first listen and afterwards was glad that I did. This that quality rap schitt right here, just hard hitting beats, flow, and rhymes. Get on it.
Sorry I’ve been away so long. Got caught up in some life schitt, but the music don’t EVA stop! This ish right here is from Ziggy out of San Jose. The homie C-Note and him are working on a collaborative album set to come out soon that I’m looking forward to. In the meantime in between time tho Ziggy hooks us up with a project of his own to let everyone know what he can bring to the table.
The OG version of this stoner jame had been out for a while with just Danny Brown, but now the final product features a guest verse from A$AP. Off the highly anticipated album ‘Old’ which is gonna be crazy!
Mibbs from Pac Div, one of my favorite rap groups in the game today, links up with one of the games top young producers in Scoop DeVille for an EP. And if you can’t tell from the posted track this schitt gonna have nothing but dope rhymes over some banging beats. Act right and get this schitt now!
I’ve had this since last week but wasn’t able to get around to posting it. The first KILT was easily one of my favorite projects of 2012 and made me an instant fan of Su. He’s come out with a sequel and while I don’t consider it better than the OG, this one still has jams on deck. If you haven’t already got this, now’s the time.
Now this that quality schitt I’m talking about! This that wholesome feel good frreshness to get your groove on to with your elders yet still got that new swag to it. The vocals are so fresh and that little salsa element at the end is nice! One of my favorite tracks I’ve heard in a long time for real. The rest of this album got the same quality to it so make sure you go and cop that.
#BNGR: Kevo Da Kid ft. Ab-Soul & Boldy James (Prod. By Young Chop)
Yoooooo this joint SLAPS! Never heard of Kevo, but the features attracted me to the track, with both Soul and James doing the thang on a knockin’ beat produced by Young Chop, who I’ve just become a fan of.Don’t pass over this track.
My peoples were feelin’ Pusha T’s latest single so much they had to hop on it themselves and they came widdit! Big Chief SMASH comes thru with the complex rhymes while my man NoahDee has a show stopping second verse that you absolutely got to hear. They for real made this their own and it’s DYLAN! Schittin’ on you other rappers, take notes.
I had this since it came out on Thursday but was out for a Vegas vacation for the weekend and never got around to posting it. This, including the posted song, were the soundtrack to the whole weekend. Chuck Inglish is an absolute favorite of mine and he doesn’t disappoint. Quality music right here. Don’t sleep.
